EBM: Week 2 Homework
Listen to the example recording of Dr. Kinard introducing herself before a presentation. Record a video or audio recording of you introducing yourself before a presentation. See the document below for a guideline on what to include in your presentation. Email your recording to your professor at least a day before next class.
You will be sent a question every 2 days in the WhatsApp class group. Each of you should answer each question and then respond at least once to another student’s comment (per question). Be prepared to share the best or most interesting part of the discussion in the beginning of next class.

Which barriers to evidence-based medicine does Grand Rounds address?
How could Grand Rounds address the barriers you and your colleagues face if Grand Rounds became a regular practice in your setting?
Optional Homework to practice written production: We discussed several ideas that are necessary to address the barriers to practicing evidence-based medicine in your setting. Work on your written production and choose 1 or 2 of the following “solutions” and write a paragraph about how that solution could be implemented in your practice setting.
Learn English; promote studies in my geographical area; perform meta-analyses; create an efficient and quality continuing medical education system for physicians; listen to my patients to understand their preferences; create educational materials for recommendations that are difficult for patients to accept; teach physicians to perform quality improvement projects in their practice; develop point of care resources that integrate the existing evidence; develop protocols for creating evidence-based guidelines.
